Made With Hate is the latest from the rap and rock supergroup — made up of revolutionary musicians Tom Morello, Tim Commerford and Brad Wilk of Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave, as well as Chuck D and DJ Lord of Public Enemy and B-Real from Cypress Hill — with their debut album having dropped back in 2017.
Opening with a huge guitar line, the longevity of the song’s presence is evident from the offset, even before it takes on the man, with lyrics criticising money, the news, consumerism and the hate that is ingrained in modern society. Chuck D noted:
“As with many songs Made With Hate was formed out of a conversation amongst ourselves about the level of passion fuel it takes to create. Especially when attacking something of HATE. You must create the energy to hate ‘HATE’. To have PEACE you have to despise hatred with a passion for peace and attack it. You can’t have hate take over anything especially history, so you have to fuel yourself to attack in thought, word and deed with equal passion.”
Made With Hate is the first taste of a new album slated for release in 2020, but before that the group have summer dates lined up in London and Manchester, as well as various festival slots across Europe.
